We had lunch with Ray Lewis and his fiance Rachel. Ray is a very creative photographer from New York City, and we talked about him doing a photo shoot for publicity photos and album cover art. Hopefully we'll work that out for shortly after Christmas.
When we got to the studio, Jesse was laying down lead guitar on several tracks. He put some awesome George Harrison-style slide on Call My Name. Wow...Lord Help My Soul Really rocks with the lead Red Volkaert did and Brian Thomas' pedal steel!
I did one or two vocal overdubs, and then we cut vocals for the two cover songs. Hayes Carll's Long Way Home is a very delicate song, with just some rhythm guitar, dobro, and dog-house bass. Jesse and I did a sassy duet of Memphis Minnie's Ain't No Sense In Tellin On Me Babe.
Ray and Rachel came over to get a feel for the music and my style. I took a nap, then we did a few harmonies and we were done. Only a couple of things are left to record...Elmo Sproat is coming in Sunday to play dog-house on one song, and someone is also coming Sunday to do accordion on one song. Jesse and Chadie are starting to mix tonight, and if all goes well, should be done by Monday!!

Love you voice and your songs. I'm a songwriter that's new to Fort Worth and have a female song that I wrote. Do you do demo's. Everytime I think about this song, I hear you singing it.
